This morning I recorded my temperatures to prove how well my mobile science house insulates me from the outside cold.

Abstract
How make car warm for science?Introduction
Winter is cold. Human scientist requires warmth to make science. Methods
Put warm ready thingy in places. Use googly eyes to look-see at numbers pointed to by red pointy-thing. Outdoor thermometer with humidity reading $10 from Lowes. Here's my midget-twin sized sleeping chamber setup, in order from bottom to top.
Car backseat (seatbelt holders pushed into the seat to avoid ass-forking)
1 Bath towel
1 Flannel bed sheet, tri-folded
1 sherpa throw
1 warm-bodied fake scientist, in tidy whities
1 bigger sherpa throw
1 flannel twin comforter

Results:
Temperatures (F)Measurement was taken at 8 am on 12/16/2015.
- Outside 36
- Inside car 45
- Between blankets 89
Discussion:
The comfort zone for sleeping is between 54 and 75 F. My setup well exceeds the requirement for warmth with my toasty furnace of 90 F.The problem isn't that my bed isn't warm enough. The problem is that it's too warm. I get uncomfortable during the night because I'm hot and then I shift positions. This can cause the blanket to expose a small area of my body to the 45 F car temperature, causing me to get chilly chills or continue tossing to rectify the exposed area, disrupting sleepy sleep.
That's why the comforter blanket is so important. With it covering the entire backseat, there is a buffer between the car temperature and my oven temperature. I can peel back the sherpa throw to regulate the heat into the buffer zone, while staying covered by the comforter. This allows me to cool off without directly exposing my skinny skin to the cold of the car.
