Diary in Pictures

Monday, December 14th.
Nashville, TN.

Thing-er-mah-jigger
Near pedestrian footbridge from the Titans Football stadium to Downtown.

For some reason there were Government property signs, no trespassing! around the stadium.
Why is that stadium not private property? o_o?

Memento Mori

956 Deaths by Suicide. TN, 2012.

Children's room at Nashville Public Library (main branch).
A sign marked the area "For tweens only."

I built a Jenga. Then I erected a billboard sign in the center of it.
Some random parent is going to walk by, see it, and be so impressed, that she will say to her Asian child, "See how creative other kids can be? Why aren't you as creative? Hmm?"

Library courtyard. Nashville Public Library.
It's nice. No WiFi there though.

The Nashville Public Library has a section for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. It's one of the few libraries in the country that has that.

There was also a wing dedicated to blacks civil rights. I watched Martin Luther King's "I have a dream speech" and listened to "We Shall Overcome",

Alice in Wonderland lithographs. Nashville Public Library.

This cat looks just like the artwork in American McGee's Alice video game. The print pre-dates the game, so it makes me think this could have inspired the game art. That game art was fantastic.

Sky and bridges and stuff and picture and yeah. Nashville, TN. Near the river between the Football stadium and Downtown area. It was windy.

There was this climbing wall for kids. The ground was really springy, so you could fall and not break even a single bone in your child body. On the right side of the wall, there's a short climbing section. Seems like it would be safer because it is short, right? But... it would be awful for a kid to climb over the wall on the right, then fall down the left side!

Some parkour guy somewhere in the world could probably make this jump.
It looks like the perfect gap. Pedestrian bridge.

But if he missed the other side, he'd certainly die.
