Sometimes we make the wrong choices to get to the right place
Sometimes the wrong choices bring us to the right places.
The biggest mistake is the one you didn't make
one of those consumer generic art has the message: "Sometimes the wrong choices bring us to the right places."
this was recapitulated in the Equalizer 2014 movie as:
"sometimes we make the wrong choices to get to the right place"
this goes hand in hand with the thought:
the biggest mistake is the one you didn't make
meaning, by not starting something because you are fearful of the outcome you miss out on so much. you make the mistake because there's something you haven't learned or mastered, so it's normal to make mistakes at the beginning (and throughout for something we haven't mastered). we shouldn't let the fear of making a mistake keep us from attempting to do things right. by avoiding things we can't do, we are forever keeping ourselves from becoming able to do them. we spare ourselves the humiliation of feeling inadequate at present moment, but will always be limited by this shame. and we will have to avoid each time it comes up in the future.
people all over the world at any time are making mistakes. so it is a fair living to profit off mistakes. i mean, you could make your whole living off of mistakes other people have made. correcting them, amending, exploiting, or taxing them.
it can be vulturous to prey on the naive and ignorant who make honest mistakes, and it can be righteous and honorable to amend the mistakes of the misguided. it can be fair and evenhanded to trade in mistakes, to gain advantage over your competitor. it can be cold and indifferent to capitalize on economic and financial mistakes.
the idea is that a perfect execution is not a norm, but that opportunities arise - one gains more awareness and knowledge through mistakes one makes; and one gains advantage and resources from other people's mistakes which you have mastered.
