On Thursday, I got a free shower at Ecumenical Social Ministries (ESM) in downtown Colorado Springs. Followed by a free lunch at the Marian House soup kitchen. 

I felt good, so I hung around the park like homeless people do.

Thoughts on food

Guy next to me at the soup kitchen sat down and bowed his head for a quick prayer before he started.

I thought about this, and yes it's nice to give thanks for the food we receive. More than that though, I thought it should be that we pray what we intend to do with this food.

I thought about what I wanted to do with this free food. I wanted to write a solver to the Schrodinger equation. So that afternoon instead of being distracted by video games or pictures, I spent all my time on studying and coding the Numerov method for solving differential equations. :-)
