Palmer Park

Palmer Park, Colorado Springs.

Today another local hike, before the Omaha vs Brady football game.

I hiked the outer trails around the park. The park is huge with many trails and recreation sites. There are barbecue pits, roofed picnic benches, grassy open areas... a volleyball court, a Doggie Park, a playground... a horsie ranch. There were mountain bikers, runners, hikers, Doges, womens and childrens.

A Day at the Park

I took about four hours to complete a huge loop around the entire park. One of the sub-trails was five miles long, total distance was maybe eight to ten miles.

Near the children's playground a bunch of nerds were role playing a team combat sports game. They swung at each other with foam ball-and-chain flails, shields, batons, and swords. Nerd on, ya nerds... nerd on.

The overlook on Grandview Trail had a nice panoramic view over the neighborhood.

Sang at the picnic area.

Swankwear

Came across a Good Will store. It's swank was off the charts.

Got some $4 sweaters by Tommy Hilfiger, Chaps, and Banana Republic. Looked practically brand new. I saw another one that was brand new, with tags still on it for $50 retail selling at $10.

There was a complimentary coffee bar, surrounded with shelved books and matched with long wooden tables. The checkout lady said on Tuesdays and Thursdays they also put out cookies all day long.

R u kiddin me? 2 gud 2 b tru.

Speaking of swank, some Colorado Walmarts have it in the bathrooms.

Plants and furniture and inspirational picture on the walls. It's like a hotel. It really is, 'cause I sleep on their property. :-)

But then I see this redneck hunting game at the Walmart arcade, and it appropriately balances out the classy John. LOL.
